I’m a big smoothie fan, but not because I like to liquefy my breakfast, I’m just usually running out the door and need something to eat that is quick and easy. This Oatmeal Cookie Breakfast Smoothie Recipe is all that and then some! The main issue with smoothies when it comes to feeling full after drinking a smoothie is that they are often high in sugar, and the meal doesn’t leave you feeling full for very long. The recipe I adapted has some added fibre, which will thicken up the smoothie, but also help you feel fuller longer!

Description

High fibre and tastes great, will leave you feeling full all morning long.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup chopped frozen (peeled) banana
  • 1 cup skim milk or milk alternative
  • 1 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1tbsp of psyllium husk

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender or magic bullet. Pulse until blended and smooth. Serve immediately.
