Quinoa & Steel Cut Breakfast Oats

Description

A delicious twist on tradition breakfast oats.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Steel cut oats
  • 1 cup Quinoa Grain
  • 5 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Milk, 1% or an alternative
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp Agave syrup, Honey or Maple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Rinse quinoa if not pre-rinsed.
  2. Mix steel cut oats and quinoa in a pot of a rice cooker or on a pot for the stove.
  3. Add 5 cups water.
  4. Turn on rice cooker.
  5. If cooking on the stove: bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer until water has evaoporated. You will need to stir occasionally.

Notes

  • Serve with milk, agave syrup, honey or maple Syrup and your choice of tasty toppings
