This week I am sharing with you a delicious lower carb meal plan with you! By no means am I suggesting that people go low-carb or restrict the amount of carbohydrates they eat. However, there is a good chance you know someone who swears off bread, pasta and potatoes with the same stringency that vegans steer clear of animal products.

This is likely due to the keto craze.

These days, it seems like everyone is talking about Keto, and we probably get ten inquiries a week regarding if we offer this type of diet counselling.

Well, the answer is no.

We don’t do keto counsel because we find that keto is too restrictive for most people and isn’t flexible enough to stick with life long. Plus, there is a variety of really negative side-effects to starting the keto diet, like headaches, weakness, irritability, constipation, nausea, and vomiting. Ick! In fact, the reality is that most people are not actually in the state of ketosis when “trying keto” and ultimately just mess up their metabolism and damage their relationship with food.

If you want to lower the amount of carbs you eat, you don’t have to go keto because it’s not the only way to lower carbs–it’s just the most restrictive, and it eliminates many nutritious foods, like fruits and whole grains.
